What is Enterprise Design

It is time to begin anew by creating your business from the ground up.

I have encountered a fascinating subject that I am eager to discuss with you. The concept of enterprise design involves aligning various aspects of a business to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds, establishing a common framework that most can understand and navigate effortlessly. It entails collaboratively defining our current position as a company and our desired future direction.

One of the primary concern in any organization is whether it is possible to develop a unified map of the enterprise that everyone can endorse. The answer is a resounding YES! This can be achieved by mapping and designing the enterprise in a way that fosters consensus on shared values among all employees.

Enterprise Design facilitates the holistic design of enterprises through three coherent facets: identity, experience and architecture.

enterprise Design brings together many different disciplines. Experience designers, service designers, organization designers, process managers, enterprise architects, software architects, managers, executives, and many more, must work in close collaboration to constantly adapt to an ever-changing ecosystem.

Enterprise Design Facets:

  1. Identity: why do we exit, who are we, what matters to us - Vision and mission statement of the company

  2. Architecture: how are we doing all this, what are our capabilities, resources, assets and systems

  3. How we add value to the people’s live and what changes are we doing?

The interconnect elements are:

  1. Organization: How do we work as a team? what is the organizational structure?

  2. Product: What are we making and offering?

  3. Brand: how are we perceived by customers?
